I am delighted to announce a brand-new 6-week online keyboard teaching course, starting on Friday 22nd May at 2.00pm UK time.
This course has been designed to help you become a more complete keyboard player and, indeed, a stronger all-round musician. Across the 6 weeks, we will explore a wide range of important musical and practical topics, including:
chords and chord understanding
right-hand embellishment
musical phrasing
arranging ideas
making better use of styles, sounds, and keyboard features
The course will not be instrument-specific. All of the teaching will be kept relevant to the major keyboard brands, so the ideas and techniques can be applied whatever instrument you play.
A key part of the course will be putting these techniques into real musical situations using well-known songs and examples. I believe this is one of the best ways to understand not just how something works, but why it matters in your playing.
Each lesson will last for a minimum of one hour, and after the final lesson I plan to include an additional 30-minute session for questions, answers, and general comments.
To help you get the most from the course:
all lessons will be recorded, so you can watch them back as many times as you like after the live session
each lesson will include a downloadable PDF, summarising and reinforcing the key points
you will not need to be sitting at your keyboard during the lesson
The aim is that by the end of the 6 weeks, you will come away with a deeper understanding of your playing, a stronger musical approach, and ideas that may well change or reinforce the way you look at your keyboard work in the future.
